Open all year round, our much-loved tipi café welcomes you to pause for a picturesque pitstop. We champion living ‘off the land’ and invite visitors to eat local and with the seasons. Come on in, we have a large café space where there’s always room.

As well as our free-range pork from our own pig farm, we’ve nurtured a glorious kitchen garden which guides our cooking and delights your palate. Our small farm shop is stocked with supplies we enjoy – most made from makers you can see from our view!

A HOMEMADE MENU

Everything on The Story Pig menu is homemade. We produce and source the best ingredients we can, always choosing quality over price – the delicious meat is reared here on our farm, we grow most of our salads, our eggs are free-range and very local.

Please note we always have a veggie option.

A combination of English favourites such as millionaire shortbreads to Swedish delights such as Charlotte’s hugely popular cinnamon buns. Often pre-ordered and sell out quickly, they arrive piping hot on the counter and fill the cafe with their aroma.

Every cake we sell at The Story Pig is homemade by Charlotte. Baked at the crack of dawn before the cafe opens at 10 am, her patisserie skills wow customers daily with an ever-changing selection of treats – often decorated with wildflowers from the garden.

Please note our small kitchen and team create delicious, local food with food metres, not miles, which guides our menu daily. We don’t have a specific children’s menu, but we encourage everyone, including little ones, to enjoy our ‘real’ homegrown food. No bookings are needed between 10am-3 pm, as there’s usually space. However, please book for pizza evenings on Fridays and Saturdays.

OUR GARDENS

We welcome you all to wander around our lavender fields and discover our bountiful kitchen garden. We’ve worked from the ground up to build a wonderful English garden, brimming with biodiversity, for you to soak up the serenity of country life.

Buzzing bees and beautiful butterflies make spring a joy to witness, but life is very much seen through lilac lenses in the summer when our British lavender puts on a show. Here at The Story Pig, we harvest and make using everything we grow – from herb salads to sweet bakes and homemade lavender soaps.

CHARLOTTE’S BAKING

Born in Sweden and at home in Dorset, Charlotte’s delicious baked goods have a Scandinavian twist, with a pinch of patisserie flair from her time in Paris – and our customers keep coming back for more. Her signature Swedish cinnamon buns have their own foodie following!

A trained chef, Charlotte also showcases savoury delights, with our Tamworth free-range pork as the hero, accompanied by some of the best local ingredients we’ve sourced from the Southwest. From proper Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and hog roasts with unbeatable crackling, to BBQ breakfast rolls, quintessential quiches and vibrant salads freshly picked from our garden, everything she does is made with love.

Celebrating the seasons, Charlotte’s homemade bakes are inspired by nature and European traditions. With many local suppliers at the heart of her ever-evolving recipes, you’ll always find something delicious and new to tickle your tastebuds.

When she’s not making and baking, you’ll find Charlotte tasting, testing, and creating new recipes behind the scenes in our farm kitchen.
