All these pictures are of our pigs living all their lives outside on our farm. Over the last few weeks we have been asked many times about if we are affected by the terrible situation that is sweeping through the pig industry. Luckily for us we are not, we use a small local Abbatoir that have the same values as ourselves. We butcher our meat here at the farm ourselves with the help of David our butcher. And best of all we sell directly to our customers who care about how their meat is produced and that crucially it has flavour!! Sometimes our chops are bigger sometimes smaller, but here at The Story Pig we celebrate that, imagine if we produced our pigs to a certain size to fit in to a certain size tray on a certain size shelf, imagine that nearly all pigs are destined for that end. We are moved, a tipi cafe packed away, dismantled, moved from it's beautiful summer location, oh I hear you say!! But it's ok, I say, we have heaved and hoovered, we have measured, and low and behold the tipi is up again!! In our barn snuggly nestled for our winter cafe and shop. Most of the tables are now inside, where we can all be away from the weather!! We will be open tomorrow at ten and Sunday. Can't wait to see what you all think!! Don't forget you can still go and see the pigs and the view.
